Who we are and how to contact us
This policy explains how Text2Pay handles information needed to run its text-to-pay service. Our privacy contact is support@text2pay.me. Businesses using the service remain responsible for their own customer privacy notices and lawful use of customer information.
Basic account information
We keep basic account information needed to run the service: your name, email address, phone number and business information. We use it to create and administer your account, provide access, communicate about the service and respond to support requests. Account security also requires protected login credentials.
Stripe handles card and payment-method data
All payment processing and storage of card and payment-method data are handled by Stripe. Text2Pay does not store card numbers, security codes, bank login credentials or other payment credentials. Information entered into Stripe’s payment components is handled under Stripe’s Privacy Policy, linked below.
Necessary service records
To send payment requests and show their progress, the application retains operational records such as the recipient’s contact details, requested amount, request status and Stripe reference IDs. These are distinct from card or payment credentials held by Stripe. Support correspondence, security logs and email-delivery or suppression records may also be kept where needed to operate and protect the service.
How information is used and shared
We use information only for account administration, payment-request delivery and tracking, support, security, abuse prevention and applicable legal obligations. Necessary information may be processed by Stripe, SMS and email delivery providers, hosting providers and other service providers supporting those purposes. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and website tools
Necessary cookies support sessions, security and language preferences. The website also uses Google Tag Manager, which can load measurement tags according to the site configuration. You can manage cookies in your browser, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent some functions from working. We seek consent for optional tracking where required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
We retain basic account information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, address disputes and comply with law. After account closure or a verified deletion request, we aim to delete or anonymize information no longer needed within 90 days. Records needed for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes may be retained for the applicable period with restricted use. Backup copies are removed through the normal backup rotation and are not used for routine business purposes. Stripe manages its own retention under its policy.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to or correction of your information, account closure or deletion by contacting support@text2pay.me. We may verify your identity before acting. We respond within the time required by applicable law, normally within 30 days for an access request, and explain any lawful limitation or extension. You may withdraw consent to optional uses; essential account and security communications remain necessary while you use the service.
International processing and security
Service providers, including Stripe and communications providers, may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information may be subject to the laws of those locations. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information, including restricting access to people and providers who need it. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Never send card details or passwords to support.
Complaints and updates
Send privacy questions or complaints to support@text2pay.me. If a concern remains unresolved, you may contact the appropriate privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We may update this policy as the service changes and will provide notice of material changes where required. The version date identifies the policy currently published.
